Will Disaster Strike Tomorrow?

More prep goodness on the official site http://TheDailyPrep.com

The answer to this question is…you don’t know.

As proof of that, Ready.gov has launched a campaign called “Today.” Today is the last day that you can make a plan for tomorrow.

If you go to this campaign’s website, you’ll see a large map of the United States, with every state in the Union bearing a calendar date of a day before a major disaster.

Click on any state and an info box will pop up, describing what happened the day before, as well as the day of the disaster.

In addition to giving state by state reminders, this web tool also gives state by state natural hazards, indigenous to the state (i.e. wildfires and earthquakes in California, tornadoes and hurricanes in Texas, etc.). And for every “natural hazard” there are some prescriptions given-what to do before, during and after.

Super helpful.

This is a great tool to pass along to beginner preppers, who could benefit from bite-sized information that is displayed very simply and graphically.

The government is inefficient at best at dealing with disasters. I trust them about as much as I trust the Viet Cong. They don't care about us. We will just be causalties. Being ready as best as one can be is the best solution, because if disaster strikes hard in more than one state simultaneously, they will not have enough reosurces to deal with the aftermaths.

Self reliance and sufficiency is the only way! But I think if you check a few websites, you'll see that the government DOES preach emergency preparedness… they try to give some good suggestions and ideas on the ready.gov site…
