First time I saw the early version of these was on Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom. I think it may have been Jim Fowler riding along with someone else on another Rokon and they had them in deep water.

Cool 2 wheel drive bike. They need to put a little modern diesel engine in it, like the one in a Smart Car for example and then sell it in Europe. The Farmers and outdoor types would love it then !!!

Neat toy but too bad they dont design them to be a bit more like dirt bikes. a real transmission so you could get up to a decent speed. Even if it was just 45mph. Most stuff you would want something like this for would be better off with a quad. Just to have fun with 2 wheel drive off road i think i would rather give a christini awd dual sport a try. Go almost anywhere and still be able to hit the highways. Just cant haul around lots of gear.

    Hi Junkeo,

Thanks for the post. The Gear Up crew just got back a week ago from Washington and had the pleasure of meeting with Orla and the Rokon Nation members. Orla's an AWESOME character, and we even discussed the evolution of the brand name. You are right on all notes. The turn of phrase we heard a lot around the camp fire that employed both pronunciations was "Rock On, Rokon!"

    Yo Jethro,
If you have an opinion get it right. You read an article once, that's great. I've met with Orla Larsen a number of times at Rokon Rendezvous and other events. (Google Orla if you don't know who he is). Orla is just about the only one in the entire field that says RockOn. He says they wanted to use the pronunciation as in On Rocks. He also acknowledges that NOBODY pronounces it that way. A few do.. yes.. but you sound like a dork if you do. Obviously YOU are not a Rokon rider. So hush!

Hi muley180 – Thanks for viewing. We are unfamiliar with the article you mention, but that's an interesting note. We are VERY familiar with the CURRENT pronunciation of the Rokon brand name (roke-on), as we endorse the line. You can check us out in our 2013 Shot Show video alongside the ROKON company at their booth. Also check out the ROKON on the Pawn Stars clip here on youtube. The current pronunciation of our favorite cycle is reflected there as well. Hope this has been informative. Best.

Hey Tim, It's pronounced Rock-On not Rokon. The original inventor and manufacturer published an article on the naming and pronunciation of the name. If you do a video, get the name right. Your credibility and reputation ride on your ability to pronounce the name of the bike correctly. Stop embarrassing yourself. Get with the program or stop the videos. Seriously?

It is pronounced Rock-on! Argue with the original inventor and manufacturer of the bike, he gives a detailed explanation of the naming and spelling of the vehicle. Please get it right when doing a demo video. Thanks

All is well and every component is fully functioning after the swim! We'd seen others head into water with the ROKON and were blown away when we conducted our own field test. Amazing machine.

Great water footage. The drive train does not really disconnect at a full turn ,it just slips enough while turning to keep from throwing you to the ground.

Hey bulg7430, thanks for watching and for the kudos! At Gear Up we love testing every piece of gear we carry – especially fantastic American Made machinery like the ROKON. No worries on the brass comment at all – it was a prudent point. The official Gear Up / Tim Ralston Signature Series ROKON will be priced right at around $7900 (*depending on options and upgrades). Thanks for the shout out and please hit me and the Gear Up crew for info on the adventure gear we carry any time!

    Best,
    Tim
