I understand that the only way to make survival kit building "fun", is to use the zombie apocalypse, but this is way too cheap to be taken seriously. Even for a starter kit. Survival is not something I would take as some novel gimmick. If someone is serious about being prepared, then they should do it right, or not do it at all. Clearly this thing is marketed to someone who doesn't care.

Heh, add that Camillus 3-day kit and you are pretty much set. I have looked at that kit, kind of expensive but a good kit.

glad you actually pulled it all out and talked about it. the hardest part for people not use to or experienced in kits/prepped bags is just starting it. reference points are the best way to actually teach newbies and veterans alike gear and skill weaknesses and address issues. I love building my kit but admit till I have experienced certain problems its always hard to address and fix them. please keep up more discussions like this one

I like it.Good starter.A canteen (even plastic, but metal is obviously preferred) would do the job and add value plus some purification tablets. If there is room, than maybe a poncho or a small tarp would be usefull, and a whistle or a mirror.

Again keeping with the low cost, these items don't need to be the best quality, just practical.

I don't mind the folding knife as there is an axe and think that this was a good choice as it reduces the cost.

With a canteen alone it is more than enough

Oh, besides suggestions for the kit, I believe the benefit from putting a kit together for yourself, is that by doing so, you will hopefully learn to use the items you chose to place in your kit.

Also, a 2000kcal energy bar and 3-5 mylar water pouches (the 5 year shelf life) would go a long way. I keep a 5hr energy in mine. Rationed it will help with the caffeine headaches I will undoubtedly get.Maybe a reusable survival blanket or 99c poncho at least. I would go for both (but spend $3-5 on the poncho and make it something that will last a week, or opt for the army/navy surplus one and that $10 investment should last you a year. Just a few of my thoughts.

Axe looks like you could close a home gas line with it. That folding blade should be a fixed blade. Add a canteen, small mess kit, maybe folding wood stove, and a minor first aid kit ($15 at walmart). You could beef up that kit at walmart/dollar store cheap, or REI/survival store for a good $100, maybe more. My packs, 72hr, 1 week, and 3 week (its 2 tubs and 2 duffles in my garage for earthquakes), have all been put together from backpacks I had at home, albeit some are my military ones.

Not a bad kit for under $200. I'd really enjoy it if E2E would set up a criteria list for a kit, and then show examples of kits (either pre-made or custom gathered) that meet that criteria list at different price points. $50/$100/$150/$200 etc. Great channel Adam, I have about 960 videos to catch up on your channel….good thing I have lots of NoDoz 🙂

You're welcome. I enjoy most the gear reviews that Adam does. Not many folks on YT actually know what they are talking about. most folks just read instructions, read books, and watches videos and think they know everything about something. I prefer when folks are out there and survival, use the items for a week while out "camping" or whatever. not just doing a review in their backyard but everyone doesnt have the time i have and i dont have the money everyone has lol. Good Job yall!
