SOL Scout Survival Kit Contents & Suggestions

The SOL (Survive Outdoors Longer) Scout Survival Kit from Adventure Medical Kits, in my opinion is a good base kit to add a few items to in order to make a good small kit to keep in your vehicle, for a day hike or even to keep in your everyday carry bag.

The kit definitely is not complete and I'd ditch that small compass right off the bat. I think it has a few good things, but definitely not complete. Good review!!

Look at my first video I have almost all this and more in my wallet and leatherman sheath. Instead of 325 paracord how about #36 bank line? I was really surprised there wasn't a knife. I would go with a SAK Farmer model or a Leatherman Wingman. Water purification tablets, 5 Imodium, 5 benadryl, 5 naproxym, 6 aspirins. 5 $20 bills. Sometimes after you find your way out of a bad situation the first place you find is a restaurant, I kid you not. Every time I ever got logistically misplaced in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan as a young fellow I knew that no matter which direction I chose I was walking distance to s road. the first inhabited structure I usually came across was a restaurant. and I would get a hot meal some coffee and give a local $20 to give me a ride back to my truck.

Really not a bad kit at all considering its a mainstream kit but then again SOL do alot right with their products but we all know that there isn't a such thing as a premade survival kit but this is definitely a great start and to build off of, should definitely lose that striker though in place of a mini bic like u said

Water purification tabs and a collapsible 1 liter container. Maybe get an aloksak about that size or a little bigger to put the stuff in. More fire making capabilities is a must. Kevlar cord or bank line if you got it. If not then maybe a paracord bracelet attached to the kit would be a good idea. A small flashlight. AAA size with a spare battery or 2. At least a cheap poncho to help with shelter building. Maybe had a cheap ass emergency blanket to put on the ground or use as shelter then you can use the good one for covering yourself. Just a few thoughts. Take Care and Be Aware

I bought this kit about 3 years ago. It is a rugged little dry bag. I have used it on dozens of trips. I added a bunch of items to mine. I show it in my 5 lbs survival kit vid.
You really can't go wrong with it for sure. The SOL heat sheets are so awesome. Thanks for the vid. Take care -Chris

Bought this kit to carry on the plane for a trip to Mexico. No problems, would be good to have if your plane went down and you survived the crash.
