New Survival Roll- Bug Out Bag | Canadian Prepper

This item has not been reviewed anywhere else on youtube. The roll concept is incredibly convenient to use and has a lot of potential. Before you judge the build quality remember that I am demonstrating the concept here and not focusing too much on this particular build, there will be many more packs like this in the future with better quality construction.

Support this channel by gearing up through this link! Your support is appreciated and it all goes back into the channel

The quality of this build isn’t the greatest but the concept itself is pure awesomeness! No more rummaging and scrambling to keep organized in the bush! It is similiar to the blackhawk medical roll but much larger with an emphasis on larger survival and camping equipment.

Im a visionary like you and it would be cool if the pouches were solar panels like the rollout 10W you have. rolling tarp and sleeping bag over it i ironically thought of too lol.

if you took out the rolling up out of it put in a hard backing in hafe .side walls and zippers the full length and backpack straps one each side might be better for transport

Hmmm I plan on using a bugout vehicle, so I went with the fishing tacklebox style.  =)  Keeps everything organized and nothing gets smashed, for example, no breaking open sterile packaging for my med supplies.

It's astounding that the zippers were something they didn't include at the beginning.

How does that plastic react to the cold? I'm also Canadian and well we both know if we gotta bug out we will have to deal with the cold for most of the year

It's a great idea! I notice that there is a lot of "dead space" between each section. I know it is required so you can roll up the pack but maybe try having smaller rolls, one for each area (shelter + sleep, first aid, food + water, etc…) with different colours. It might even be easier to strap them all to a frame providing easy access to each one. Good video!

A business opportunity!  This great concept would be useful for many applications: medical, camping, survival, travel, household organization.  I can see you are exactly right, about the future applications of the tool roll system.  Get a patent!

Seems I missed this one. Definitely a cool concept. I am using a very primitive version of this idea with rolling stuff into my wool blanket and securing it to the bottom of my pack.

The rucksack you have is that an American ALICE pack or a Canadian Pattern 82?

I think the vinyl plastic gets brittle in time and will crack, esp in cold wx, and it traps moisture, and cannot drain or or air out = [collects condensation in the sun, like a plastic sandwich back does– and we all know what soggy bread tasets like].
To get that see thru visual benefit that the clear vinyl has change the vinyl to a mesh, fabric or nylon netting, or small fishnet/webbing. I have some pockets on my cheapo back pack and it has some convenience pockets of mesh netting, about .25 or .4 inch diameter netting size for storing stuff on the outside of my little pack.

a bit too bulky for my taste. I don't think I would hike with a roll like that. my sleeping bag would take up the same bottom straps on my pack. however this would make a great kit for my truck or BOL. :)

+Canadian Prepper – If I may add for your roll, put some small loops of p550 cordage or leather onto each zipper to gross motor skill grabbing of the zipper can be done, especially when we're talking about being out in the cold.
A +1 from there would be to put mini-rolls of duct tape onto each zipper (in different colors). I have the mini DT rolls on my bag as a just in case, and it's amazing  when you have that resource right then and there when you need it (for me it's been several DT bandages).

You could look at the "DIY SilNylon" vids on here to see how to waterproof the rolls; Silicone sealant dissolved in mineral spirits basically. Paint it on, let dry, and it's waterproof. Easy to do at home, in the garage or back yard of course for good ventilation.

it would be great if you would add links to the products in your descriptions or talk a bit more about brand and where you can acquire things like this roll-n-go bag. I can't seem to find one

I think that this is definately an interesting concept.  I hope that you can get the bugs out and get it into production.  I can easily see this expanded to include multiple rolls for all the different aspects for survival.  All of which could be able to be connected together on a simple frame with shoulder straps.  something that could actually replace the backback itself.

Great Video. I love the roll bag concept with clear vinyl windows as well. I've held out from buying the Blackhawk Medical Roll because it just doesn't hold that much. NAR (North American Rescue) has a Trauma Sheet with the same layout on a bigger scale but it doesn't roll, it folds in half. I would buy the roll you have if only it was available. Great zipper mod! I agree, a backpack with this layout would be awesome!

Another durable material instead of vinyl, is the material that Ortlieb use in their map cases. They are designed for cold weather use and never crack. I used one for 15 years before I lost it. It feels like rubber to the touch and has quite a bit of stretch. Nice Vid and good idea. Thanks, Mark.

You know, I'm searching right now for the perfect EDC bag, and let me tell you, what a pain… But it got me thinking about your idea. Have you reached out to anyone, meaning tactical company? You need to put this in production NOW, lol. I think you have a great idea, if you did a kickstart campaign I think you would be a millionaire. I would be the first one to buy it and if you pooled together a half a dozen YouTube Preppers as contributors to the concept, that would reassure the success of the product.
