Cool video and decent review! IMO BattlBox is a waste of money. Save subscription based monthly deliveries for snacks and candy! Survival gear should be something well thought out and something purchased with intent and knowledge. BattlBox is not for the serious survivalist or 'prepper.'

Heads up on that bleeding control bandage. I'm an EMT and those things are now illegal for us to carry. Paramedics even don't want to use them. They have a quick-clotting agent on them that makes your blood clot almost instantly. They can do things like cause chemical burns. They also make it incredibly hard for doctors to operate on your because of the agent and the bandage that is stuffed in that they have to clean out before they can help save your life. My advice. Do a quick lesson or search on bleeding control through direct pressure, elevation, and tourniquet application. These will save your life far more efficiently than one of those bandages. Tourniquets especially are a life saver. You just have to know how to use one.

the battlebox is a waste of money. This is meant for for dorks who want to feel cool or for the extremely novices outdoorsman. Even for the ladder this is a waste of money. There are plenty of sites and articles out there that give good info on what you need for go bags and in tactical situation. If you do some basic shopping on amazon $150 will get you all of these items plus a 45L pack, multi-tool flashlights, etc… you guys get my drift. Don't get caught up in the hype of having something new any shiny.

Definitely subbed. Clear and concise review, and thoroughly enjoyed the unboxing! Concerning when a tourniquet "should" be applied, I've always been taught that, once the source of bleeding is found, throw a tourney on about 2" up from the wound, then clean with gauze, and pack with quick clot. Once most of the bleeding has stopped, wrap it.

tourniquets are used when you cant stop the bleeding by regular pressurizing bandage. If someone creates a "bloodless field" (I am Swedish and don't know the right designation in English) they haft to keep track at the time. It has to be loosen after 60 minutes, time limit is 120 minutes after applying tourniquets. After that time the cells start to die without blood flow. If the patient only has a arterial bleeding their is no sense to make him loose the hole arm, if yah know what I mean. However when you are not in a battle-zone there is rly no point of having one with you. Anyone can make a tourniquet from a t-skirt or a regular bandage, just make sure to never use a rope and if someone use a belt, put something underneath to even out the pressure. In the Emergency we use a blood pressure cuff much rather then anything else if we want to have a "bloodless field". Make sure to hold the limb high for abut 30-60 seconds before applying tourniquets to save the little blood in the limb. No point of waste, the patient should be pretty pale anyway. 🙂

In a real emergency, put on tourniquets to stop the massive bleeding and call 112 (911), remember the time, even better, type it on the patient were its easy to see.

    I hope this was informative.

tourniquets are only meant for when you can not stop the bleeding from an extremity after two applications of bandages and pressure or when there is an amputation. sometimes they are used with crush injuries but not very often due to the problem of build up of toxins in that area of the body being restricted. Do not play around with tourniquets trying to just cutoff circulation it can dangerous not to mention lethal in the right situation!!!

Just a heads up, I work a job where I get to play with the window punch from time to time. Most of the ones you find on knives will not break the window of a car. If it is rounded on the bottom at all it won't work

How is it that you Americans can pronounce 'buffet', 'gourmet', 'ballet', 'beret' and 'fillet', but not 'tourniquet'?

Hint: they are all French words, and end with the sound 'ay'.

I would throw out the tourniquet and go buy a kat tourniquet. Can be used in self aide and buddy aide really quick in a matter of seconds if you know how to use a tourniquet. Side noted it you double wrap the Israeli Bandage with enough back pressure can do the same once again if you have the practice. Little chuck of combat medic training that was used 1st hand down range

blabla. oh a book; 311 pages, that's a lot of information. then the pocket version; no pictures… you need to read them to apply the "knowledge". do you read dude? Then what's a medical, professional person, doctor?! Did you mean doctor? sigh dude, really nothing learned here. But books with lots of pages have loads and loads of info.
