Gerber Bear Grylls Basic Survival Kit- Pocket Survival Kit

In my opinion this kit is a viable option for beginners to add to.
It would fit in your pants pocket, glove box or use it for redundancy in your bug out bag.

It can be found at Walmart or order it on Amazon with the link below.

Thanks to The Prepper Dad who gave this kit away on his website.
Here are his links:

Good video. This kit is better than nothing. I feel that you can't build a better kit for the price that this kit cost.

You might be able to use the nylon cord to make a fire bow with but don't quote me on that since I have never tried it but if its all you got to make a fire that might be some thing.

The BG priorities of survival guide is good for EDC to go bag…. Despite the downfalls of some pre made kits. They are decent to build on; however, building one does allow to control the quality or materials used. The F.rod seems good. ty for sharing ….

Cool little kit for the price. It is a great starter kit and the bag is pretty tough.

The best thing about this kit is to teach ya what ya really need. IE: better ferro rod, better whistle, more and better cordage, heavier wire, etc. It is, however, just a mass market survival kit with Chinese made cheap items. JMHO

I would definitely change out the cordage to paracord. I'd add a small fishin kit, sewing kit, a bandana, a trash bag, some water purification tablets, some advil, some vaseline, one mint, and some heavy duty tin foil to boil water and cook in. All those items can fit inside that little water resistant bag. I would have a knife on my belt so I would just take that little shitty one out of there and add a razer for in case. Thanks for the video.

you got it rite 2nd time with scraper     the serrated 1/2 round   think tinder scraper    fat wood/ wet fire/trioxane  or as a comb for jute  to form bird nest    now all that said iv had  3 grills branded items and ill give ya my take    GARBAGE IN GARBAGE OUT DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED $$$$$$$$ BUILD YOUR OWN KIT AND SPEND LESS IN LONG RUN cause after re buying the grills kit 5 times  when parts break you will have spent more than if you build your kit  with a slightly hire initial cost items  once  and no worries ever again     BUY ONCE CRY ONCE

You should make an equal kit yourself, and do a video comparing the 2 and explaining the advantages of making your own!! I think it'd make for a great video! – Jonah

I have one of these. I got it on clearance at Kmart for $10 several years ago. It is a decent basic kit, but you will definitely want to add a few items. I added some really basic medical gear, duct tape, Vaseline cotton balls, a mirror for signaling, a razor blade for precision cutting, a small lighter, plastic bag, and water purification tablets.

You said it brother. Not something I would buy because I can just make my own and make it 100% better. As you said though, If your new to this game you better spend a little cash. Great vid brother
