An addition to my most recent comment about the 600 page book called "Camping and Survival" by Paul Tawrell. It has 6800 illustrations and goes as far as to inform the reader as to…
    1) What type of avalanches there are
    2) How to avoid getting caught in an avalanche
    3) How to find people that are caught in an avalanche
    4) Which type of canoe is best for which type of waterway and which length of travel
    5) 18 pages (or more) on every type of shelter you can and should build in any type of terrain or weather condition.
    6) How to pan for placer gold in streams
    7) How to track other people and animals
    8) How to avoid being tracked by other people who are following you.
    9) 8 pages on how to use a compass almost anywhere on earth

    etc. etc. etc.

At $32.73 this book REALLY IS a steal.

I just bought the book "Camping and Survival" by Paul Tawrell.

I don't remember how many pages it has (more than 600) but it basically shows in very good detail how to survive almost anywhere on earth in the great outdoors.

It was $30 at my local Eastern Mountain Sports store (Barnes And Noble also has it) but it was a steal for the amount of information it has in it.

    The ISBN # is # 978-0-9740820-5-9.

… You could have just used two sticks tied together at the top with a tentioning stick in the middle like Dave Canterbury.

I love this and it is the greatest camp craft tip Ive heard of. The blades fit nicely in the sheath of my machete and I have the bolts duct taped around the sheath.

very intuitive and smart, i have a saw much like that one, the same concept really. but i think it would be smarter if you took the aluminum handle with you instead of taking all that time to make a new one. the aluminum doesnt weigh much and is almost unbreakable. but knowing how to do this is very genius.

your the tool, get your info right, poaching is when a person hunts illegally, during non hunting season, without paying for tags or license.

Poaching is the unlawful taking of wild plants or animals. Regardless of endangered or not. But Naturally it is illegal to hunt endangered species.

actually it is hunting any animal without the land owners permission whether it is a protected species or not as game animals and birds and even fish are classed as property. in the uk you actually need a licence to fish freshwater. and even vermin pest animals are covered by a general hunting licence which basically means you need permission from the land owner to hunt on his land. and the legally accepted reason for hunting in the uk is pest control

I don't think you realize what poach means. It's the killing of an endangered species. And that's illegal. Your a tool.
