A “found” survival kit. Exploring someone else’s Survival Kit.

I found this survival kit in a gun shop the other day and thought I would share the contents with you all. Anyone else ever find something like this before?

Here is a link to a short vid on the knife in the kit:

I agree with Nico. One thing I saw that I now have in my kit is an ID card. Thanks.

I love seeing the priorities of someone who has spent his entire life outdoors BEFORE the big prepper/survival craze of the last decade.
just a nice conservative kit with the basics. a kit built up over many cold nights around the fire.
no gadgets, no camo rucksack with enough molly webbing to strap everything you own to it… just a bag with some useful stuff.

    love it. good find

during most of the mans life youtube wasn't available so all this gear he probably put in because at some point he needed it, and didn't have it. he may not have been aware of a lot of the fancy mainstream gear we have today and all. i know my grandparents aren't aware of half the stuff i have in my pack like tent hammocks, and tinder quick tabs, mini propane camp stoves and other stuff. they just didn't have the money to spend on all this fancy gear. so this is a very well put together kit considering he prob got most his info from books, and personal experience.

Very cool! The Zebra pot alone is worth way more than you paid for the kit. It's fun to take a peek inside someone else's kit.

As a survival kit this has some serious shortcomings.

I don't think this was a "survival kit". I think it was more of a hanging in the woods kit.

"Mora" is a knife making town in Sweden and they all used to use that name in the name of their knife company or on their knives in some form or fashion. Sort of like how a lot of companies also used the word "Bruk" such as with Gransfors Bruk and Hultafors Bruk. So I'd say you have quite an interesting find their. Personally…I'd have paid more than $10 for just the knife.

PS…Could you do a video on just that knife with some closeup shots?

that's a great knife in there. I have the same knife. they run around 60 bucks. I use it when I camp and hunt and stuff too. I skin animals, fillet fish and carve feather sticks. whatever I need, that knife has performed great.

A great presentation from a hunter of yester year, goes to show how well thought out some people were in their preparations to being out in the wilderness.

    Nice kit man!

I bet that old boy was 100 times more competent in the woods than these modern gear junkies with these fancy bags full of a thousand dollars in gear!!

That's really cool. I imagine that those of us who are younger and less experienced than that guy was (probably most of us) could learn a few things from his expertise. That kit was probably the end result of decades of real world trial and error, figuring out what he needed and what he really didn't need, and even if our own preferences differ from his, there are certainly some valuable lessons to be taken from this. Very cool, thanks for sharing.
