By adding dry beans to your kit, you add a low weight high protein food that doesn't go bad. True it takes preparation but, it's well worth it.

in my country its forbidden to camp on someone elses property and there is no ground which is not a property of someone.
there are official camping places where you have to pay. but even the woods are property

so fire and big shelters are not possible unless you want to get caught and face the consequences
stealth camps are my only option

basic rule of thumb when talking about prepping, you can last 1 month without food, 1 week without water, and depending on the environment 1 day without shelter.

If you already now where you are going to bug out to. You might want to preposition (cache) some of the heavier items buried deep in several different locations. Just remember to bring a small shovel to get to your cached gear.

ok first off you should invest in some dry bags for your kit, especially your sleeping gear and any other stuff that you will need to be kept dry as the rain will get in, also you said you arent including any medical treatment regarding indegestion or diarrhea becuase it will take up space!!!! buy some buscopan from your local pharmacy (pennies) and store it in you BOB trust me if you get the shits in the woods or wherever you BOL is you will be thankful that you did and it would take up allot!!! less space than that bag of salt you put in there, the machete that will fit in you bob is the gerber gator jnr, a pack of cards is always good for morale too, peace atb

in the night its always cold, if its a real hot area even more so, its important if you ever been out you will know…a system with a tent for 1 person will be 1kg more at the most then a working tarp setup, but it protects better against windchill, insects etc…to hunt for bears/deer wont happen most likely so small stuff will be your food source, also dont forget about fishing an easy calorie saving way…but those wannabe rambos will need a .50cal for a catfish i guess xD

Australia is the worst when your sorting out shelter, it can rain and the stop for weeks then rain again, and the nights are even colder.

What do you think of slingshots/catapults as an alternative or back up to air rifles? I didn't rate them at all until I saw some peeps on the tube taking rabbits and pigeons, impressed.
